Valentino Rossi has been battling a shoulder injury for the majority of the 2010 MotoGP season. The shoulder injury was quickly forgotten by most when Rossi broke his leg in the fourth round of the MotoGP, an injury that would sideline him for more than two months.Rossi is back on the track now, and his leg is getting stronger every day. It is his shoulder that keeps him from being at 100%. Rossi has decided that in order to be completely fit for the 2011 season, he will need to undergo surgery this winter.
"In the end the problem is the shoulder. At the end of the year I'll have it operated on," Rossi said.
Rossi is switching teams at the end of the 2010 season, which might make it difficult for him to schedule his surgery. As of now, Yamaha has not given Rossi the ok to test with Ducati before the end of 2010.
