The departure of Valentino Rossi from his Fiat Yamaha team at the end of this season will cause a lot of things to change. Most obviously, it will put Rossi in direct contention with current teammate, and season leader, Jorge Lorenzo. But the teams in both the Yamaha and Ducati gargages are bound to see some changes during the off-season.For one, Davide Brivio, who is currently Fiat Yamaha's team manager, has said that this was more than likely his last year with Yamaha. Brivio has headed the Fiat Yamaha team since 2002, and was played a big part in signing Rossi in 2003.
"I wouldn't mind following in the footsteps of Carlo Pernat," Brivio said, referring to Loris Capirossi;s manager. "And I think this will be my future career path."
"An historic chapter is coming to a close at Yamaha, and I wouldn't have had much more to contribute. Nothing is confirmed at the moment, but I have plenty of time to sort out the details about my next job.
"But for now I can exclude the possibility of continuing with Yamaha."
It doesn't seem like Brivio will stay another year for Yamaha, but where he'll end up is uncertain. The same can be said about Rossi's mechanics and crew chief, Jerry Burgess.
