2010 MotoGP Preview: BRNO

motogp_brnoSummer break is over, and the MotoGP riders are gearing up for their return to BRNO. All eyes are on Jorge Lorenzo, who is pulling away with the 2010 MotoGP championship. Lorenzo has a 72 point lead over the competition, but he hasn't clinched the title yet.

Valentino Rossi should finally be back and fully healthy this weekend. Rossi came back surprisingly fast from a broken leg injury, and for the past two rounds, it was obvious that he wasn't in top shape. But with a three week break, the defending champ should be able to give it his all at BRNO.

But even with Rossi in top form, Lorenzo will be tough to beat. Lorenzo has won 6 out of the 9 MotoGP races this seasons, and in the three races that he did not win, he finished second.

Lorenzo nearly lost in Laguna Seca to Dani Pedrosa, but the Repsol Honda rider crashed out of the lead. Pedrosa will be looking to even the score at BRNO, and gain some much needed points on the leader board.

Pedrosa's teammate, Andrea Dovizioso, sits in third on the overall leader board, 95 points behind Lorenzo. It is an uphill battle for the two Repsol Honda riders, but anything is possible as we enter the second half of the season.

Jorge Lorenzo
"We are going to Brno, a track I like and where I've won three times, but never in MotoGP. I haven't even got a podium here and this is my challenge, my first podium in the second part of the season and in Brno.

Valentino Rossi
"I've had a good break and it's helped me a lot to have this time to work on my physical condition. I'm feeling good about my leg and my shoulder and I hope that this weekend I'll be feeling much stronger. Brno is a great track for me and it's always special because it's the first place I ever won at. Last year I had a great race, this year will be harder because I'm not completely fit yet but I am looking forward to getting back on the bike. We have half the season still to go and our aim is to have a good second half!"
