For months, people have speculated that Valentino Rossi would be going to Ducati for the 2011 MotoGP season. The speculations progressed so much that many people claimed the deal had been done. But Ducati came out today to say that they are still interested in signing Valentino Rossi, but the rumors that he has signed with them are false. Rumors were also circulating that Nicky Hayden had agreed to sign with Ducati for 2011. These rumors were also proven false today by a message released by Ducati.
Regarding the recent allegations attributed to Gabriele Del Torchio - Ducati CEO and President, Ducati states that no agreement has been reached with the riders Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden for the future Moto GP season, although our interest in these riders remains.
We would like to say that the recent news which has appeared on the US website Cycle World and other websites has been misreported and must be attributed to the many rumors circulating lately.
Whether and when an agreement is reached, official press releases will be issued.
It is still a possibility that Rossi and Hayden will sign with Ducati, but it is clear that it has not happened yet.
