Roger Lee Hayden Replaces Randy de Puniet

motogp_rogerhaydenBoth Hayden brothers, Roger and Nicky, will be competing at the Red Bull USGP at Laguna Seca this weekend. Roger Hayden will be replacing the injured Randy de Puniet. Puniet broke his left tibia after a crash at the German GP last weekend.

Roger currently races for the Pedercini Kawasaki team in the World Superbike series, but hasn't had the best showing this season. At the MotoGP, he will get the chance to ride an LCR Honda machine, which Puniet was able to consistently put in the top ten.

Hayden will also get a chance to compete in the Moto2 event for Amrican Honda.

“Thanks to the cooperation from Nicky Hayden and Kevin Schwantz, we went for the best choice: Roger Lee Hayden. He has plenty of experience at Laguna Seca and we will do our best to support him,” said Lucio Cecchinello of LCR Honda.

Puniet is currently 7th in the overall standings in the MotoGP. He is hoping to return by mid-August.
