Teams and riders will head to Germany for the 8th round of the MotoGP at the Sachsenring circuit. Jorge Lorenzo holds a commanding lead, but all eyes will be on the reigning MotoGP champion, Valentino Rossi, as he makes his return to the MotoGP circuit. But Lorenzo's lead isn't in danger, yet. He holds 52 points over his closest competitor, Dani Pedrosa, and more than 100 over Rossi, who has dropped down to 7th place during his absence.
But Rossi's return could be enough to shake Lorenzo from the top of the podium, where he has stood for three consecutive races.
If Pedrosa or Rossi can't do it, Andrea Dovizioso will try his luck. Dovizioso currently sits in third behind his Repsol Honda teammate, Pedrosa. Dovizioso gave Lorenzo a run for his money at Catalunya before a crash that resulted in a 14th place finish.
Lorenzo has a firm grasp on the MotoGP lead, but the rest of the pack will be gunning for him this weekend. And if Rossi wants a chance to win an historic 8th MotoGP championship, he will have to start with a solid weekend at Sachsenring.
