Casey Stoner, who is currently riding with Ducati, and has been for the past four years, will be moving to Honda at the end of the 2010 MotoGP season. For the pat few months, it has been speculated that Stoner would be making the move to Honda, but today, both Honda and Ducati confirmed that a deal has been made.
"We are very pleased that Casey will join Honda again next year,” said HRC vice president Shuhei Nakamoto. “Clearly he is one of the top riders in MotoGP and he will bring valuable speed and experience to our team."
Stoner started his MotoGP career with Honda in 2006, before making the move to Ducati the year after.
"We are very pleased that Casey will join Honda again next year,” said HRC vice president Shuhei Nakamoto. “Clearly he is one of the top riders in MotoGP and he will bring valuable speed and experience to our team.
“In the factory Honda squad we already have two very strong and experienced riders in Dani Pedrosa and Andrea Dovizioso who are performing very well and currently hold second and third positions in the 2010 World Championship.
"HRC hopes also to retain these two riders for next year - giving us what would be a truly formidable line-up."
With Stoner out of the line-up for Ducati, rumors are sure to start flying again that Valentino Rossi will be joining the Ducati team. Rossi got on a bike last weekend, and although it is still questionable whether or not he will ride again in 2010, it is clear that Rossi will be ready to compete next year.
