Jorge Lorenzo extends his championship lead with another MotoGP win. His win at Assen is his fourth MotoGP win in a row, and extends his lead to 47 points in the overall standings. Dani Pedrosa crossed the line in second, and Casey Stoner took 3rd.
The 80th Dutch TT was all about Lorenzo. Lorenzo won both free practice sessions, the qualifying session, claimed the pole position, won the warm-up session, and then took the race win.
Pedrosa did his best to keep with the championship leader, but when the checkered flags came down, Pedrosa was 2.93 seconds behind. Stoner took his first podium of the season at Assen with a third place finish, 7 seconds behind the leader.
Ben Spies had another impressive finish today, claiming fourth place ahead of Andrea Doviziososo.
Lorenzo now sits with 140 points on the overall leade board, followed by Pedrosa with 93, and Dovizioso with 89.
