Jules Cluzel stepped it up infront of his home crowd today to take the win at the first free practice session of the Monster Energy Grand Prix de France. Cluzel has yet to win a GP race, and will look to take his momentum to his first ever GP win in his home track.
Cluzel rode to a 1'39.827 lap, which put him just a tenth of a second ahead of Alex de Angelis, who finished second. Toni Elias was next in line. Elias, who took the win at the last Moto2 event, was .27 seconds behind Cluzel.
Sergio Gadae and Fonsi Nieto finished off the top five.
