Second on the grid is defending World Champion Valentino Rossi. The Fiat Yamaha rider posted 1:55.362, but remained second fastest just as he did in both practice sessions.
Rossi’s Fiat Yamaha teammate, Jorge Lorenzo, was third fastest, finishing out the front grid. The Spaniard, who’s recovering from a motocross injury, posted a 1:56.646.
