Corsi Tops FP2 Despite Crash

corsiSimone Corsi was the fastest Moto2 rider on the Indy track today despite a crash early in the session. Corsi outpaced Marc Marquez and Mattia Pasini during the second free practice session of the weekend.

Corsi was sitting in 23rd in the closing minutes of FP2, but the Ioda Racing rider was able to take it up a notch in the closing laps to take 1.7 seconds off of his morning pace.

Marc Marquez also suffered a crash today, but his came at the end of FP1. Marquez didn't seem to shaken up, however, as he finished the day just .06 seconds behind the pacesetter. Pasini was just a few tenths further back in third.

Stefan Bradl was able to better his time from FP1 to claim the fourth place spot ahead of the morning leader, Scott Redding.

Julián Simón, Ricky Cardús, Aleix Espargaró, Mike di Meglio, Michele Pirro completed the top ten.

Kenny Noyes was once again the fastest American, finishing in 15th, just .8 seconds behind the leader. Jake Gagne also put in a solid time today to claim 22nd. Martin Cardenas, who finished just outside of the top ten in FP1, dropped to 26th at the end of FP2, while JD Beach continued to struggle with the Moto2 bike, ending the day in 32nd.
