2010 Red Bull Rookies Cup Champion Jake Gagne will be stepping up in class next weekend with a wild card entry into Moto2 at the Indy GP. Gagne's addition will put four Americans on the grid for the Moto2 race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Gagne will be riding the GP Tech / Fogi Racing / FTR machine during the Moto2 race next weekend. Gagne has already tested the FTR motorcycle, and will get another chance to test this weekend at Indy.
"The bike was really good straight away," Gagne said. "We made some little changes, but it was really close from what the team learned last year. Hopefully, we'll get even faster in testing at Indy. So far, it's been really positive. We'll keep working to earn the best result we can get in the race."
Gagne, who will be turning 18 next week, is currently racing in Spain's CEV Buckler championship.
The young American will be joined by AMA Superbike riders JD Beach and Martin Cardenas. The three one-time Moto2 riders will join series regular Kenny Noyes to represent America at Indy.
