Stefan Bradl lead the way for the Moto2 riders during the first day of free practice at BRNO. Bradl, who currently leads the series, set a record breaking lap time around the Czech circuit to outpace Andrea Iannone and Alex De Angelis.
Bradl broke the Moto2 lap record in the first free practice session, but quickened his pace even more during FP2. Bradl dropped four tenths off of his FP1 time to end the day with a record 2'03.166 laptime.
But even with his quick pace, Bradl couldn't find too much space at the top of the timesheets. Andrea Iannone and Alex de Angelis both finished with two tenths of the pace setter.
The pace of the top three riders seemed a little too quick for the rest of the Moto2 field. Marc Marquez took the fourth place position at the end of the second free practice session, but was more than .7 seconds off of Bradl's pace.
