Bradl, Takahashi, Top Time Sheets on Day 1 in Qatar

yuki_takahashi_moto2_qatar_fp1The opening day of the 2011 season saw some fantastic action on the Losail International Circuit. The Moto2 riders got two free practice sessions in today, and Stefan Bradl and Yuki Takahashi topped the time sheets.

Bradl led the way during the first free practice session, beating out 2010 125cc champion, Marc Marquez by .3 seconds. Scott Redding, who was a half second behind the pace setters time, was followed by Thomas Luthi and Andrea Iannone.

As the winds died down during the second testing session, the Moto2 riders took to the track with a little more speed. Yuki Takahashi was the fastest during the second free practice session, dropping his time from FP1 by three seconds. Takahashi's 2'01.695 time will be the time to beat tomorrow as the Moto2 riders take to the track for the third and final free practice session.

Scott Redding took second during FP2, finishing .05 seconds behind Takahashi. FP1 pace setter Bradl, finished another .05 seconds back.

The top 10 riders all finished within a second of Takahashi.
