Simone Corsi took the top spot on the timesheets during a free practice session that saw a host of crashes at the beginning of the session.
Corsi finished with a 1'26.306 time, just .2 seconds ahead of Gabor Talmaski. Corsi didn't make a run for the top until the final 6 minutes when he shot up from 16th place to first with a superb effort around the German track.
Alex Baldolini finished just .09 seconds behind Talkaski for the third place finish.
Julian Simon set his fourth place time before crashing at the end of the session. Season Leader Toni Elias also took a spill around the Sachsenring track, but was manage to regroup and finished fifth for the day.
At least 10 riders hit the pavement at some point during the session, but everyone seemed to walk away without injury.
