Jules Cluzel capped off a good weekend at the AirAsia British Grand Prix at Silverstone with his first ever win at the GP level. Cluzel led the Forward Racing team to victory ahead of Thomas Luthi and Julian Simon.
Cluzel, who has crashed out during the last two races, was able to maintain to control during a hectic final lap at Silverstone. Luthi was slightly ahead during the final lap, but a crash by Claudi Corti forced Luthi to hit the brakes, opening the door for Cluzel to squeak by. Cluzel takes his first GP victory by just .057 seconds.
Simon took the last spot on the podium, his second podium finish of the season. Home track rider Scott Redding had his best finish of the season with fourth place.
Toni Elias remains at the top of the leader board despite the fact that Elias struggled throughout the weekend at Silverstone. Elias was able to salvage a tenth place finish, giving him 80 points in the overall standings. Shoya Tomizawa remains in second with 65, and Luthi climbs to third ahead of Simon and Corsi with 58 points for the season.
