Claudio Corti took his first World Champion pole position today at the AirAsia British Grand Prix. Corti was followed by teammate Jules Cluzel, maknig it a one-two finish for the Forward Racing Team. Corti was the first and only rider to break the 2'10" barrier by setting a lap time of 2'09.624. Cluzel was close behind, just .413 seconds off his teammates pace, claiming his third consecutive front row start.
Stefan Bradi and Julian Simon finished off the front row, making the front row of the grid an all Suter motorcycle affair.
Yonny Hernandez took fifth place, while replacement rider Xavier Simeon continues to impress with his sixth place finish. Alex Baldoni and Arne Tode finished off the second row of the grid.
Season leader Toni Elias will have to make up some ground tomorrow. Elias took 18th in the qualifying at Silverstone.
