Andrea Iannone took a comfortable win at the Italian Grand Prix, as fellow Moto2 riders battled for the other spots on the podium. Iannone had the advantage of pole position at the start of the race, and as riders piled into turn one, Iannone was able to escape in the lead.
Lukas Pesek was the first rider to go down from the charging pack, leaving Gabor Talmacsi, Jules Cluzel, Toni Elias, Alex Debon, Shy Tomizawa, and Thomas Luthi fighting for second place.
Cluzel dropped next after claiming the lead behind Iannone. Simon Corsi, who was slow at the start of the race, caught up to the leading pack at the halfway point, and eventually made it up to the front, where he battled with Sergio Gadea for second place.
In the end, Iannone crossed the line unchallenged, with Gadea narrowly edging out the charging Corsi by three hundredths of a second.
