Moto2 rider Andrea Iannone secured the pole position today at the Italian Grand Prix in Mugello. Iannone took his fourth career pole in front of his home crowd by .260 seconds.
Iannone finished just ahead of season leader Toni Elias, who had a blistering fast last lap to raise his time by a full second. Alex de Angelis and Jules Cluzel finished in 3rd and 4th to finish off the front row.
The second row will be led by Shoya Tomizawa, who sits in second place in the standings, 18 points behind Elias. Sergio Gadea, Gabor Talmasci, and Alex Pons will complete the second row of the grid.
