Tony Elias stands on top of the Moto2 standings with his second consectutive win of the season at Le Mans. The Gresini Racing rider is now 18 points ahead in the overall standings.
Elias beat out Julian Simon and Simone Corsi to claim the win at the Monster Energy Grand Prix de France.
Elias started seventh on the grid, but got a good jump off the line to take an early lead. The first lap saw a few riders go down, leaving Elias, Jules Cluzel, and Simon to pull out as early contenders. Cluzel crashed out at lap six, while Xavier Simeon, Alex de Angelis, and Shoya Tomizawa also took skids across the pavement.
Elias pulled ahead of the pack as more than 10 riders crashed during the Moto2 race. Out of 41 racers, only 30 crossed the finish line.
