“One engine manufacturer, one tire supplier, one frame maker, one rider. One load of crap.”

That’s pretty much the medium opinion expressed on discussion boards regarding the new Moto2 class. The Grand Prix Commission announced not long ago that the new Moto2 class would be contested by 600cc four strokes. That was the simple part. Since that decision Moto2 has ignited more then a fair share of controversy, bickering, and bitterness – nearly killing the series before the first flag ever drops.

The French Round of the FIM Superbike World Championship is scheduled to take place at Magny-Cours on 2nd, 3rd and 4th of October 2009, a circuit that is much appreciated by riders, organizers, media and public alike. The circuit company, led by Mr Philippe Guillaume, has organized and developed the French Round of the FIM Superbike World Championship since 2003, and the event has met with growing success, most notably regarding the public attendance (+105% in six years, +18% in 2008 compared to 2007) and as a result the economic benefits for the region.

On March 31st, after a productive meeting between Paolo Flammini and Philippe Guillaume in Paris, both parties - with the aim of developing the event in the long term - have agreed on an extension to the binding contract for three more years, from 2010 to 2012, on the Nevers Magny-Cours Circuit.

Rossi will complete a memorable parade lap of the 37.73 mile (60.7 km) circuit before the start of the six-lap Dainese Superbike race. He will ride behind the course car on a 2009 Yamaha R1, flanked by eight of the famous Travelling Marshalls, who will be riding similar machines.

“I am fascinated by all sort of motorsport and the Isle of Man is a destination and a race I have wanted to experience for a long time,” commented Rossi. “Always the MotoGP schedule is very busy around this time of year, but this year the TT has moved dates a little and there is a week gap between Mugello and Catalunya, so now at last we have the opportunity!” “I have seen many famous images from the TT races,” he added, “and of course heard much about it from Giacomo and Mr Dainese who enjoyed the experience so much last year.”
