If you've ever wanted to ride a motorcycle on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway or learn to handle a racing motorcycle from a champion like Kevin Schwantz, now's your chance! Just imagine riding the Brickyard the morning after the MotoGP, receiving personal instruction from the 1993 500cc World Champion Kevin Schwantz on that circuit for two whole days.
What You'll Learn from Kevin Schwantz
You'll be taught how to hold your line mid corner, implement those lean angles on board a bike, and actually experience how late you can leave your braking while entering a corner. Kevin Schwantz and his group of professional instructors will show you how racing legends like Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo, Casey Stoner, Nicky Hayden, Ben Spies ride this 16-turn, 2.6-mile road course — and just one day after the fifth annual Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix is in town.
Kevin Schwantz provides instruction to motorcycle riders of all experience levels. So no matter what you feel your current motorcycle riding skills are, if you take Schwantz's course you are sure to become a much better, more confident, and safer rider. What you'll learn from him you'll be able to use not just on tracks, but during your everyday street riding as well.
What's more, you'll do it at location most people only get to see from the stands! Kevin Schwatz runs the only racing school with the honor of being able to teach at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and his is the only track-based school to be recognized by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. This means you'll improve your motorcycle riding skills while also creating memories that will last a lifetime.
What You'll Get at the Brickyard
You will be able to choose from two bikes which Kevin Schwantz provides to students: a Dunlop-shod Honda CBR600RR or a Suzuki GSX-R600. You can bring your own gear or you can rent from the school: Arai helmets as well as Dainese leathers, boots, and gloves. At the end of the course, all the students receive a special commemorative Indy Schwantz School T-shirt, a photo CD, and a video DVD.
Kevin Schwantz also has some additional incentives for you to make the most of your time in his school. The "most improved student" will receive the Dunlop Most Improved Student award. This gives the most improved student a new set of Dunlop motorcycle tires of their choice. The safest student of the class will receive the Dainese Safest Student award, which gives the winner a Dainese Wave Back protector.
Drinks and snacks will be offered both days, along with lunch each afternoon. A special Schwantz family BBQ is scheduled for dinner on Monday evening which everyone is invited to. So act soon if you want to join AllAboutBikes very own Editor-in-Chief Julian Taylor with Kevin on Monday the 20th and Tuesday the 21st at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
