For the 22nd time, Honda has claimed the top spot in the motorcycle class at the Baja 1000. The Johnny Campbell Racing team, consisting of Kendall Norman, Quinn Cody, and Logan Holladay, took the overall victory at the 44th annual Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 desert race.
The Johnny Campbell Racing team used a CRF450X to cover the grueling 705-mile course. The JCR team finished the course ahead of 278 other starters.
It is Honda's 22nd overall victory and its 15 consecutive win. Norman also has a storied career at the Baja 1000. Norman claimed his 5th consecutive Baja 1000 win, his 6th overall. Cody took his third consecutive win, his fourth overall, and Holladay, a Hollywood stunt rider, took his first overall win.
JCR Honda team owner Johnny Campbell said, "It was a long day. It was really rough and I was happy to be in the air with the helicopter and not on the ground riding the bike because it was really rough. All the guys did a really good job and it was a tough race. It was very, very rough."
Honda claimed nine of the top ten spots during the 2011 Baja 1000 motorcycle race.
