Himmelman Wins Swedish TTXGP Race

TTXGP_SwedenLast weekend the North American TTXGP championship concluded with a thrilling round at Miller Motorsports Park. But the electric motorcycle racing season isn't finished yet. The Australian and European seasons still have a few events left. Matthias Himmelman just completed another fantastic round for the Muench Racing team, capturing the win at the first TTXGP race held in Sweden.

Himmelman claimed the pole position than proceeded to dominate the lap. Himmelman led from start to finish and even lapped a few of the other riders.

"We had some minor problems with the bike, so i took it easy the first few laps, then I sped up," Himmelman said. "I didn't see anyone the whole race except when I lapped them. I was faster in qualifying, and I think we could have gone even faster."

Himmelman's biggest competitor, the CRP team, did not participate in the Swedish round.

"It's a shame that CRP couldn't be here, as i would like to race against them, but i understand they have some motor problems. Overall we have had a relaxing weekend, I am very pleased and am looking forward to the next race at Le Mans, and hope to win the Final, to become 2011 Champions"

Ho Chi Fung and the Zongshen racing team took second place in Sweden.

"I am pleased with 2nd place, but I'm disappointed that i wasn't closer to Himmelman," Fung said. "I thought that at this twisty track, and with the possibility of rain - in which i am very confident riding -  I would be able to keep the same pace as him, and I did keep up for the first few laps, but then he got away."
