There's no denying that Max Biaggi had a fantastic 2010 season. Biaggi claimed 10 race wins and 14 podiums this year to earn the 2010 World Superbike championship by a wide margin. Now Biaggi has just been awarded the Golden Helmet at Italy's Caschi d'Oro awards.
Italy's Caschi d'Oro awards are organized by the countries leading weekly magazine, Motosprint. Motorsprint readers also voted to give Biaggi the rider of the year award.
"It's great to win the Casco d'Oro, but for me the Top Rider award has a special significance, and it makes me feel so proud," declared an emotional Biaggi on stage. "It's fantastic to win it again after so many years, the last time was in 1998."
Max Biaggi also helped Aprilia to earn a Helmet for the manufacturers title at the Caschi d'Oro awards. Toni Elias, Jorge Lorenzo, Tony Cairoli, and Marc Marquez were also awarded helmets for the achievements in their respective divisions.
