Mathew Mladin, an Australian motorcycle racer, has risen to prominence in the AMA Superbike competitions for his work with Team Suzuki, helping to bring home an unprecedented string of victories in the AMA Superbike Championships.  Mladin has won the Daytona 200 three times, in 2000, 2001, and 2004, as well as having made multiple wild card appearances in Superbike World Championship races.

Intensely private, Mladin prefers to leave it all on the racetrack and avoid the media.  In 1998, Mladin said, “I don't enjoy all the press side of things at all, I enjoy my racing and I enjoy winning like nothing else.”  He maintains a friendly competitive relationship with fellow racer Ben Spies.  Spies and Mladin race together on Team Suzuki, and for the past three years Spies has beaten Mladin out for the first place spot in the AMA Superbike championships, and the rivalry is palpable.

When he’s riding in the AMA Superbike racing circuit, Mathew Mladin rides the Suzuki Rockstar GSX-R1000.  Its 4 cylinder four stroke engine cranks out a huge amount of power while its compact design and short wheelbase give it maximum control in motorcycle races where high RPMs are the normal situation.

Mladin also runs a company that manufactures and imports motorcycle racing accessories.  The company is called “Mat Mladin Imports.”  They import brands like Joe Rocket, Tourmaster, Galfer, Vortex, Jardine, and MSR to Australia and New Zealand.  These brands produce everything from hardware accessories for your motorcycle to jackets, helmets, and goggles.

An important factor to think about in choosing motorcycle accessories is safety.  While hurtling down the track at breakneck speeds may be fun, the speeds are just that – breakneck – without the proper safety equipment.  Most riders choose to wear full-body leather jackets and pants to ensure their skin won’t be ripped up in a crash.  A helmet and goggles are also standard motorcycle equipment.  Although it might seem like a few inches of foam aren’t much, it can be the difference between life and death for the rider.

Mladin’s line of imports covers all the needs of a rider, from the AMA Superbike fan to the hardcore biker who’s looking for some new gear to take to the track.  Along with his partners from whom he imports, Mladin maintains a consistently high bar of quality and comfort in his selection of motorcycle accessories.
