The FIM has announced yet another series schedule for the 2011 season. In conjunction with BSI Speedway, series rights holders, next year’s list of events for the Speedway Grand Prix (SGP) championship and Speedway World Cup (SWC) have been released.
Next year’s SGP season is comprised of 11 rounds over a little more than six months of time and will visit seven nations throughout Europe. First round honors go to Leszno’s Alfred Smoczyk Stadium in Poland on 30 April 2011. The SGP series will welcome Poland’s brand new Edward Jancarz Stadium in Gorzow to the calendar; it will host the final round of the 2011 season. Also of note are two circuits which hosted their first SGP round this year, Poland’s Torun and Croatia’s Gorican, which will stay on the list for next season due to their successful hosting of the series.
The FIM SWC will be set for July and will be hosted by Great Britain, Denmark and Poland. The first round is to be held on 9 July at Vojens Speedway Center in Denmark, and King’s Len’s Norfolk Arena in Britain will host the second round on 11 July. The Race-Off and Final will be held at that new location in Gorzow on 14 and 16 July, respectively.
