The 2010 Honda NSF100 European Cup Final is scheduled to commence on 22 October and will run through the weekend in Albacete, Spain. The entry list is already full, and the teams should already be setting up and preparing for the official rider briefing on Thursday, 21 October. The Honda NSF100 Championship competitions take place throughout many European nations including Belgium, Finland, Italy, the Netherlands and Sweden. The series also has events in Australia, Japan, and South Africa for riders not living in Europe. The European Cup Final event brings together top young riders from each of these nations to compete against the best of the world for top honors in the series.
Run in concert with the UEM Road Racing European Championship, the Cup will be comprised of two practice sessions for each of the A and B Groups on Friday, followed by both a Qualifying Practice and Qualifying Races for each Group on Saturday. These qualifying sessions will cut the current crop of 36 participating racers down to only 18 for Sunday’s premier race. A secondary race will be held before the main NSF100 race to set the final ranking for the 18 riders who do not make the cut. At the end of the main event the new 2010 Honda NSF100 European Champion will be crowned and stand atop the podium in front of a sure-to-be-large Spanish crowd.
24 October will finally show to the world which one of these talented young riders can take home both the trophy and pride of place as the best of the Honda NSF100 European Cup…and a number of riders who may be moving on to bigger things very soon…
