In less than a month, the 43rd Tecate SCORE 1000 will begin in the Mexican desert. Teams across the globe are currently making their way down to Ensenada, Baja California, where the race will start on November 16th.
The legendary race spans 1072 miles of rugged desert, starting in Ensenada, and ending in La Paz. It is the 36th time that the Tecate SCORE 1000 will begin in Ensenada and the 18th time it has finished in La Paz.
The Tecate SCORE 1000 is the mother of all desert races. Starting in 1967, it is the oldest and most well known race of its kind, and attracts riders from all over the globe. Trucks, cars, Atvs, and motorcycles will all compete over the course of the four day event, and the entries will come from 15 different countries.
“Without the SCORE Baja 1000, desert racing would not be where it is today,” said Sal Fish, SCORE International’s President and CEO. “The SCORE Baja 1000 continues to draw interest from all over the world and we now find second and even third generation racers appearing at the starting line with their family patriarchs cheering for their off-spring. This event continues to be the focal point of the SCORE Desert Series each year and to celebrate our 43rd anniversary with a peninsula run will surely add another colorful chapter to the legacy of the SCORE Baja 1000.”
