Rea Aims for Suzuka 8 Hour Glory

wsbk_ReaJonathan Rea just won his third World Superbike race of 2010 at BRNO, and now he will be trying his luck at the annual Suzuka 8 Hours. Rea will be surrounded by some good talent, with MotoGP rider Kosuke Akiyoshi and Moto2 rider Yuki Takahashi.

Rea, Akiyoshi, and Takahashi will make up the F.C.C. TSR Honda team. It will be Rea's first outing at the Suzuka 8 Hours, and he intends to win.

“I am going there to win; it's not one of these things where I want to just take part. I travelled to Japan immediately after the Brno WSBK race to test at Suzuka" Rea said. "I know Honda is expecting victory and that is what I am willing to do. It's an unbelievable event and it's always great how passionate people are about it.”

The F.C.C. TSR team will be riding CBR1000RR machines to complete the notoriously difficult endurance race. The Suzuka 8 Hours is the third event out of five rounds in the 2010 QTEL FIM Endurance World Championship.

The Honda team has won 22 times in the past 32 years.
