NHRA National Record Set by Female Rider Hot

Karen StofferThe Tire Kingdom NHRA Gatornationals was held this weekend at the Gainesville Raceway. The weather seemed to be perfect for racing this weekend with Karen Stoffer and her Suzuki/Geico Powersports motorcycle setting a national record with a time of 6.847 in the quarter mile.

Karen stated after the run, " We've still got the good conditions out there that we had yesterday, and everyone's got the nerves out after the first round. I'm not sure it can go any lower than that, but I'm not going to set it in stone just yet."

Karen Stoffer has been involved with Motorcycle Drag Racing since 1990 when she was picked to be Rookie of the year at the Los Angeles County Raceway. She was one of the first few women to be licensed in Pro-Stock Motorcycle Racing.

As you look through Karen Stoffer's achievements and biography, you can see her hard work and winning attitude is evident. She was her Class Champion in 1991, 1992, 1994, and 1997 with an overall NHRA Division 7 Championship in 1993. She held the AHDRA National Record and experience in the Pro-Star, NHRA, AMA, NMRA and not to mention multiple wins in the Pro-Modified class. Karen always seem to find her way into the top 10. She has accomplished this 5 consecutive years in a row. Not bad for a 5 foot 6 inch, 115 lbs women!

Unfortunately during Round 2 while racing against Shawn Gann she was fighting to keep her Suzuki/Geico Motorcycle in line but was unable to pull it off. Gann's time beat Stoffer's time with a 6.945 against her 6.979 knocking her out of the race. It only takes a few hundreds of a second or less than a blink of an eye lid to take home a win.
