Husaberg Factory rider Graham Jarvis won Xtinction, a grueling off-road race, in Alberta, Canada this weekend. Jarvis was joined on the podium by Mike Brown and Kyle Redmond.
Jarvis was able to navigate the 2-hour endurance race despite a heavy rain that fell the night before qualifying. Jarvis managed to second in the muddy qualifying behind Mike Brown. KTM rider Nick Fahringer qualified in third.
For the race, temperatures heated up and dried off the track. Brown shot off from the pole position to take the early lead, but Brown blew a corner and allowed Fahringer to capture the front position. But Fahringer was only able to stay at the front for a few minutes as he made a navigation error at the top of a large hil climb.
"Unfortunately when I lost sight of the trail markers some spectators flagged me on in the wrong direction. That mistake cost me the lead and several positions," remarked Fahringer.
Jarvis would be able to capitalize on Fahringer's mistake. Fahringer would work his way back to second, but eventually relinquished his position to Brown and Redmond.
The Xtinction win adds to Jarvis' impressive 2011 season. Jarvis has also won at Hell's Gate and the Tough One this year.
