Heavy rains turned an already difficult course into a nightmare during the second day of the ISDE in Finland. Team USA moved into the third place spot after day 2, while Finland extended their lead at the top.
The second day of competition retraced the same trail as day one. The ISDE riders traveled 200 miles of roads, trails, and tests, in extremely poor conditions.
Kurt Caselli, who is leading the way for Team USA, said:
"Those trails have had enough. Everything is slippery roots, blown out or whooped out. It was just plain tough. It'll be nice to move on to something new tomorrow.
"I myself didn't have the best of days. I was probably pushing too hard. I crashed a couple times and dropped one place (overall). As a team, we all had some problems here and there but we're all still going strong, we're all trying to move forward."
Caselli maintained the top spot in the E2 class, while Russell Bobbit and Destry Abbot helped the team to move into third in the Trophy standings.
The junior US team also moved up in the standings, from 7th to 5th.
