David Philippaerts took his first overall victory of the 2011 FIM Motocross World Championship this weekend at the Brazil GP. Philippaerts took a first and second place finish in Brazil, giving him enough points to take the overall victory.
After the first round of the 2011 Motocross season, Ryan Dungey and Chad Reed are tied at the top. Dungey and Reed both took victories during Saturday’s event at the Hangtown Classic, and both riders also took home a second place finish. Reed and Dungey are currently tied with 47 points, 7 points more than the 2011 Supercross champion, Ryan Villopoto, who took two third place finishes.
Throughout the 2011 Supercross season, GoPro has shot video from the rider’s vantage point. GoPro has just released the video from Ryan Sipes’ helmet cam, as he rides to victory during the Supercross Lites, Dave Coombs Sr. East/West Shootout main event.

This weekend, the 2011 Motocross season kicks off at Hangtown. Ryan Dungey, Ryan Villopoto, and Chad Reed will all be at the starting line, but James Stewart will not. Stewart announced today that he won't be riding at Hangtown.
