Dungey Maintains Points Lead As Supercross Heads to Oakland

dungey_ktmThere have been three winners so far during the 2012 Supercross season, but only one rider has been on the podium at every event. Ryan Dungey currently holds the lead with 67 points ahead of Chad Reed and Ryan Villopoto who both have 63.

"It feels great to hold the red number plate as we head into the fourth round," said Dungey. "It's still early in the series, but it is definitely off to a good start for the Red Bull/KTM Team. I can't thank everybody on the team enough. They have put in so many hours and we have made so much progress on the new 450. The bike is running amazing."

Dungey, who is riding with KTM this year, started the season with a third place podium finish. It was KTM's first Supercross podium ever. The following race Dungey gave KTM its first ever Supercross victory.

Dungey took second last week behind Chad Reed but was able to maintain the overall lead.
