This Saturday the 2012 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season will start at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California.
James Stewart, Ryan Villopoto, Ryan Dungey, and Chad Reed highlight a field of deep competitors for the 2012 season. Reed, Villopoto, and Dungey battled throughout the 2011 season for the championship, which eventually went to Villopoto, while James Stewart decided to sit the season out.
Stewart is returning to the series this year and we'll be fighting to reclaim the title. Of course, Ryan Villopoto won't make it easy. Villopoto will start his title defense this Saturday in Anaheim, where he has taken two wins in the past.
Villopoto won the season opener in 2011, and according to GrindTV, if he wins this weekend he'll be just the sixth supercross rider to win back to back season openers.
