Red Bull/KTM Factory Team rider Ken Roczen broke his arm during a practice session at the KTM test track on Sunday afternoon. The young rider will miss the opening round of the Supercross Lites Championship series on the west coast but is expected to recover in time to compete in the East division.
KTM writes in a press release:
"Roczen was immediately taken to a nearby medical facility where his arm injury was treated. With the full support of the Red Bull/KTM Factory Team, Roczen is expected to make a full and speedy recovery in time for the commencement of the 2012 Supercross Lites East Championship Series."
The Supercross Lites East Championship Series begins on February 25th in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. That gives Roczen nearly two months to recover. Cycle News reports that the KTM/Red Bull team could still win the west division with the help of Marvin Musquin.
Roczen wrote on Twitter:
"Broke my arm today. Got surgery right away and we're expecting to ride east coast! Good thing is... hopefully, [there's a] KTM champion in west and east."
