Stewart Misses Second Podium; Looks to Even Points Total in Daytona

San_Manuel_RacingFor the second time in the 2011 World Superbike season, James Stewart failed to find the podium. Stewart was on his way to a showdown with Chad Reed for the race win in Atlanta, but after a collision with a lap and a half to go, Stewart dropped back and had to fight for fourth.

"That was a crazy night of racing," Stewart said. "I rode my best and at the end of the day that's all I can do. I'm feeling good and will hopefully knock it out next week."

Ryan Villopoto, the season leader, took another win this weekend and was able to extend his lead to 10 points over Stewart.

The other San Manuel Yamaha rider, Kyle Regal, had a solid race and finished in 13th.

"I didn't get the top ten finish I was hoping for, but I'm going to continue training hard," Regal said. Regal spent the last week training in Florida with Stewart and will remain there for the next few weeks, hoping to improve his performance.
