James Stewart claimed his second victory of the 2011 Supercross season last night in Oakland. The victory put Stewart back in the lead, grabbing two points over Ryan Villopoto. Chad Reed and Ryan Dungey also found their way onto the podium last night at the Oakland Coliseum.

Last night's race was the first of the 2011 season to be held on a wet and muddy track. Villopoto claimed the hole shot despite the muddy terrain, but the track did him in shortly after. Villopoto lost traction on the wet track and gave up his lead to Stewart, who didn't relinquish it for the rest of the race.

“This is a great win for me and the team,” said Stewart. “It’s a long season and it’s all about winning a championship. The rain tonight made it a little difficult, but I am glad I came out on top.”

Villopoto was able to recover, but he was never able to get back to the front. He would end the race in forth behind Dungey and Reed, giving Stewart enough points to claim the lead 92 to 90.

Dungey and Reed went back and forth for the second half of the race, and it looked like Dungey would be able to claim the second place spot on the podium. But Reed was relentless on the last lap and was able to pass Dungey on the final turn.

Dungey is now 14 points behind the leader, while Trey Canard and Reed sit a little further back, with 71 and 70 points respectively.

The Supercross riders will now head to Anaheim for the 5th round of the 2011 Supercross season at Angel Stadium.

Yo Writer - It's "Hole Shot" and not "whole shot" as you write. Spell check won't always get it done. Just sayin'........
