Ryan Villopoto claimed his second win of the 2011 Supercross season, and the first win ever at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles last night, beating out James Stewart and Ryan Dungey. Villopoto is now 5 points ahead of Stewart in the overall standings, while Dungey holds onto third place, 14 points behind the leader.

At the start of the first-ever Supercross race inside Dodger Stadium, Brett Metcalfe claimed the hole shot. Metcalfe held onto the lead for the first four laps, but ended up crashing out and giving the lead to Dungey. But Dungey couldn't hold onto the lead long. Stewart and Dungey traded the top spot up at the front, while Villopoto waited to make his move for the lead.

“It was really slippery out there tonight,” said Villopoto. “The start of my race didn’t go as planned, but I was able to make up some time early on and things went my way.”

Stewart and Villopoto were running wheel to wheel, but a small slip up in a right-hand corner by Stewart allowed for Villopoto to gain the advantage.
