You'll be seeing a lot of SCOTT Sports around the Supercross track this year as Andrew Short, Brett Metcalfe, and Nick Wey will all be wearing SCOTT gear this season. SCOTT Sports will also be sponsoring the entire DNA Shred Stix Star Yamaha Lites team as well.
Short and SCOTT sports have agreed to continue their relationship throughout the 2012 season. Short will be wearing the Hustle Goggle with the FIT system this year.
“Andrew is one of nicest, most laid back riders around and it is a pleasure to have him back for two more years. We have supported him through his amateur career and now as a pro,” said Kevin Strikwerda, US MX Marketing for SCOTT Sports. “Not only is Short a great representative for the goggles but we are equally as excited to have him training on the bike that has won multiple stages in the Tour de France.”
“I am a firm believer that my goggles are an important part of my racing. If my goggles fog or fail me in a mud race it could cost me a win. I trust and know that SCOTT goggles are the best,” said Andrew Short.
Nick Wey will also be riding with the Hustle Goggle this year. Wey started his carreer back in 1998 with the help of SCOTT Sports, and is happy to back with the brand.
“SCOTT has been with me since I turned pro. To be back with them is great especially at this point in my career. The level of support they give is the best in the industry. You know when you go to the line you have the best goggle available,” said Wey.
SCOTT Sports will also have their goggles around the eyes of Brett Metcalfe this year. Metcalfe moved up to the 450cc class this year, and SCOTT Sports is enthusiastic about the young rider's potential.![]()
“Brett is a long time SCOTT team rider and I couldn’t be happier to have him back on board. SCOTT has supported Brett while he raced as an amateur in Australia and when he made his US debut. Metty has proven he knows what it takes to be on the podium,” said Kevin Strikwerda, US MX Marketing for SCOTT Sports. “Brett is an outstanding rider and everyone at SCOTT can’t wait to see his run towards a 450 championship.”
The DNA Shred Stix Star Yamaha Lites team will be decked out in SCOTT Sports gear this year as well.
“I couldn’t be happier to have Yamaha’s Factory Lites team in SCOTT gear head 2 toe. With Cunningham, Sipes, Audette, Swanepoel and Paluzzi all on one team, this should be a breakout year for the team and SCOTT,” said Kevin Strikwerda, US MX Marketing, for SCOTT Sports. “SCOTT has a credible history of supporting the sports best and the DNA Shred Stix Star Yamaha team has the knowledge and riders to be on the podium.”
