With just a few weeks to go before the start of the 2011 Supercross season, Jake Weimer has broken his arm. Weimer, who was riding with the Monster Energy Kawasaki team, broke his arm yesterday while practicing for the upcoming season.
Kawasaki sent out this tweet.
“Jake Weimer suffered a broken arm while preparing for the SX season. We all wish Jake a fast recovery and can't wait for his SX class debut.”
Weimer was the West Coast Supercross Lites Champion in 2010, and was preparing to step up to the premier class this year with Kawasaki. The status of Weimer's injury and his expected return date are not known at this time.
Kawasaki will be relying on Ryan Villopoto to lead the charge for the factory team on January 8th when the 2011 Supercross series begins at Angels Stadium in Anaheim. Kawasaki has not yet named a replacement for Weiner.
