James Stewart's New Orleans Win

Supercross: James Stewart's New Orleans Win

supercross round 11Although Chad Reed leads in overall points at 246 over James Stewart’s 238, it was James Stewart that showed his competitive edge in the main event at the Superdome in New Orleans for Monster Energy® AMA Supercross.

The crowd watched as Stewart jumped to an early lead at the start of the 20 lap main event.  He maintained this lead throughout the event which extended Stewart the victory and number one spot on the podium.  Chad Reed, the defending AMA/FIM Supercross Champion, was unable to find that opening and ended up following Stewart by 6 seconds at the finale taking number 2 on the podium.  Yamaha’s, Broc Hepler, who showed some of his best riding this season took third.

With only 6 rounds remaining in the 2009 season, the excitement continues to build watching Chad Reed and James Stewart who are within single digits in point standings push for the lead.
