Two-time AMA Supercross Champion Chad Reed is hoping to make a return at Houston SX on April 10.
The Monster Energy Kawasaki rider has been out since round 2 in Phoenix due to breaking his hand after wrecking with his rival and defending Supercross Champion James Stewart, whose also out of action due to a similar hand injury.
The Australian Reed did practice before Daytona, posting the fastest lap time, but also sustained another injury there, breaking his thumb.
During a Kawasaki video, Reed said: “The plan and the goal was actually to race (at Dallas)…Silly me took a fall, and I wrecked before Daytona and broke the end of my thumb and it sort of delayed everything.
“I’ve been working really hard with my trainer and doctor and they’ve kind of giving me the OK to get up and go full steam ahead with my stomach. We’re shooting for Houston, and that’s the goal now.”
As for the stomach reference, Reed suffered from unknown stomach problems that affected him last summer, although he still claimed the 2009 AMA National Motocross Championship while still riding for Suzuki.
