Chad Reed may race today during round 9 of the AMA Monster Energy Supercross Championship at Daytona.
The Monster Energy Kawasaki rider has missed the last six races due to injuries he sustained during the “crash heard ‘round the world” with his rival James Stewart in Phoenix during round 2.
The number-22 rider said he was sick of missing races that he could have been a great competitor in, and if he can’t race at Daytona, he’ll definetly practice to get a feel for the racing environment once again.
Reed, 27, had surgery after breaking his left hand during the Phoneix race, and continues to recover. The Australian reported still feeling pain while racing, and would rather heal 100-percent before getting back in the SX action. His had back-to-back 19-place finishes during the first two rounds at Anaheim and Phoenix.
Stewart has also missed some racing, the San Manuel Yamaha rider’s return unknown. After round 3, Stewart felt some pain in his right wrist, and subsequently had surgery for a broken scaphoid.
