AMA MX: Josh Grant Recovering

Christian Craig will substitute for Josh Grant while Grant recovers from ankle injuries sustained at X Games 15. Craig is an 18 year-old who just made his professional debut at X Games 15 where he finished eighth. Craig won national titles as an amateur before turning professional, and is excited about the opportunity to ride the JGRMX prepared Yamaha YZ450F. “I am very happy to be riding for the JGRMX/Toyota/Yamaha Team. They have the best of everything. I have a great opportunity and will make the most of it,” said Craig.

Craig, who resides in Murrieta, Calif. is the son of former Factory Yamaha rider Mike Craig. He arrived in North Carolina yesterday and spent the day testing settings at the JGRMX practice facility. Craig will live in North Carolina riding and training with team. He will race with the number 578.

As reported earlier Josh Grant will most likely miss the remaining four-rounds of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship, but continues to make rapid progress with his recovery. Grant was in the JGRMX/Toyota/Yamaha shop this afternoon in good spirits and getting around quite well with the aid of crutches. His status will be updated as his condition improves.

Craig’s debut with the JGRMX/Toyota/Yamaha Team and the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship will be August 15 at Unadilla Sports Center in New Berlin, N.Y. The first motos of both the 250 and 450 classes will air live allisports.com beginning at 1 p.m. (EST). The second 450 moto will be broadcast on SPEED starting at 7 p.m. (EST).
