Dungey to Make KTM Debut This Weekend in Las Vegas

dungey_ktmRyan Dungey shook up the motocross field when he announced that he'll be riding a KTM in 2012, but dirt fans will get a sneak peak of Dungey's new outfit this weekend when he hits the track at the Monster Energy Cup in Las Vegas.

"After testing the new KTM over the past two weeks, I am feeling confident enough to compete and am really eager to see where I stack up against the competition," mentioned Dungey. "It's a last minute decision to race this event but the team is behind me 100% and I am excited to make my debut on the bike."

Dungey has been working with the KTM for the last few weeks, but no one expected him to race on a KTM at the Monster Energy Cup.

"To my surprise, Ryan was eager to race the Monster Cup," said Roger DeCoster, the Red Bull/KTM Factory Team Manager. "We didn't expect him to race after only two weeks on the bike, but he will use the event to help gauge where he stands speed-wise against the competition. It will also give the team a racing opportunity to test different set-ups with the bike prior to the opening round of the Supercross. Ryan can then take this experience to prepare his training regime this winter."

Dungey may not be able to be competitive this weekend, but it's exciting to see him pushing the KTM team. If Dungey can't compete with the field this weekend, you can be sure that he'll be toward the front in 2012.
