Team USA lifted the Chamberlain Trophy for the 7th consecutive year last night as the Americans won the Motocross of Nations in France. Ryan Villopoto, Ryan Dungey and Blake Baggett, started this year's MXoN in the best possible fashion by claiming all three qualifying heats, but the Americans weren't able to run away with the MXoN title this year.
The American team headed into the final event trailing the French team by 9 points. The French team only needed two solid results to claim the championship, but team leader Christophe Pourcel had wheel problems and had to pull himself from the race.
With Pourcel out, the Americans had a chance to claim their 7th consecutive title. Ryan Dungey and Ryan Villopoto were able to keep their bikes on the podium during the final day, and secured another Motocross of Nations title for the USA team.
The USA team was joined by France and Australia on the podium. For Australia, it was an historic occasion as the country earned its first MXoN podium thanks to the fantastic riding of Chad Reed who won the first MX1 race.
Great Britain, Belgium, South Africa, Germany, Spain, The Netherlands, and Estonia complete the top ten.
