Andrew Short Crashes, Out For Remainder of MX Season

Andrew ShortAndrew Short suffered a severe crash this morning while training for the AMA Motocross Championship. Short, who is currently 6th with 196 points, will not be racing for the rest of the season.

Short broke both of his elbows and his rest during his fall in California. The Red Bull KTM rider was taken immediately to the hospital after his crash. Doctors say that Short will be out for at least 8 weeks.

"It is unfortunate for Andrew that this accident has happened," said Red Bull/KTM Team Manager Roger DeCoster. "The entire team is deeply disappointed that he is injured so close to the season end. Short was just doing his job today, and unfortunately, this is part of the sport. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope to have him back on the bike soon."

Short was just 14 points behind his teammate Mike Alessi for fifth place.
