Nick Wey will be throwing his hat in the ring this October at the innaugural Monster Energy Cup in Las Vegas. Wey will be racing against other dirt track stars like Chad Reed and Andrew Short for a chance to win the million dollar pursue.
"If there is a million bucks on the line, you can count me in, especially if it's in Las Vegas," said Wey. "This is going to be a great event that is new for the riders and fans. With the three-moto format, it's going to take three good starts and three solid motos to run up front, which is new for everyone."
The Monster Energy Cup will pit the best riders in the world against each other for huge cash prizes on a track designed by Supercross and Motocross legends Jeremy McGrath and Ricky Carmichael.
"In my eyes, being creative is the key to creating this track," said McGrath. "We see a lot of tracks, and I really wanted to make this something unique for the Monster Energy Cup."
Wey just finished up his 14th Motocross season with three top five finishes.
"To have Jeremy McGrath and Ricky Carmichael design the track is a great addition to this race," said Wey. "From what I've heard, the outside part of the track is going to pretty unique, and I am looking forward to the final design."
There will be three races at the Monster Energy Cup, each worth id="mce_marker"00,000. If a rider can win all three main events, they will walk away with a check for a million dollars.
The Monster Energy Cup will be held on October 15th at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas.
